Basement Walls

The past three days we have been putting together the basement walls. It is like a lego set. Inside the each 18 inch form we put rebar. At every seam we laced the inside of the form with wire and screwed a board on the outside. In total the height of the basement wall will be around 8 feet tall. Friday we should finish forming, bracing and plumbing the walls. Monday is the planed day to pour the concrete. The weather has been great. We need about a week more of good weather to finish the foundation work. And another two weeks to frame up the outside and get the roof on.

Well we finally broke ground on 12/5/06 when our basement was dug. It snowed that day (the first snow we have had so far this season!) It was really cold for a few days and the concrete was suppose to be poured on friday, but due to the cold it was delayed until today 12/11/06. The footers were formed and poured. It is suppose to be a "nice week" as far as the weather goes so we are hoping we will get the walls of the foundation done.
