2nd floor and working on the roof

This is above the garage and part of front house. Above the garage is a "bonus room" and "storage room"

This is above the garage, this is the front of the house

The side of the garage roof

Trusses for the garage roof

More trusses for the garage

This is the front of the house

The front of the house again

This is the side of the house facing Rte 12 E (for those who know where that is) and also facing the creek.

Again the same side

This is the back of the house

Again the back of the house

The side where our driveway is and garage and storage shop.

Well we haven't been on top of taking pictures. The weather still really isn't cooperating well. Once the roof and windows are in, it won't matter about the weather. After last weeks really cold weather, this week has been considerably warm but very wet and rainy. All the snow is melting and causing a big muddy mess! But that is spring here. We turned the clocks back this week so it is light out until 7pm now which makes for a longer working day.
On the pregnancy I am 38 weeks and 4 days today. Still feel pretty good. Just waiting now. The anticipation is killing me. I think we are ready. Who knows. I don't think anyone is really ever ready, but we feel ready. We will definately keep you updated.

First floor framing and partitions

This is our "back yard" where the pool will go someday!

This is side of the house facing 12E (I don't know why its so blurry) Also when you look out this side you will see the creek.

This is the storage shop which is part of the garage. This will be Mike's area for tools and all the manly stuff.

This is in the garage. We still need a lot of stone in here.

The door straight ahead is the man door to the garage with the large garage door to the right. I was standing in the house taking this.

This is part of the kitchen. Just imagine cupboards, refrigerator, stove, oven, counter top, etc. The window down to the right is actually in the mud room. The partition is not up yet.
The door will come in from the porch and just to the right will be a sit at counter top. The window will be over our corner sink in the kitchen. To the left of the door is the great room.
This is the dining room. We just bought a nice counter height square mahogany table for this. It will look so nice.
This is the great room. Part of the bay window is to the right. Straight ahead in the middle will be the fireplace.
This is the "den/computer room/could be guest room"
This is the front of the house. From the left the window is the den, then the front door, then the window in the dining room. The rest is garage.

This is the garage and storage shop. We will drive in and see this view everyday.
Well we are very excited to actually be able to visualize the rooms. There still will be a second floor and roof. Right now standing in the driveway it looks huge. We will build the driveway up some so its not such a leap down from the house. The house was already built up on a little hill of the land and the plans called for the house to sit up from the ground some. Looking from the main road it looks big too. It looks so lonely, it's the only house on 100 acres in an open field. For those of you who are not here but are familiar with the area, you can clearly see the house from 12E (the main road into Chaumont). So we have lots of comments from people. People like to tell me dad he is taking a long time. Which I'm sure he loves to hear. The last couple weeks have been very cold (single digits and teens) and in this open field the wind is very cold! So last week they only worked a couple days and so far this week nothing. Tomorrow my dad leaves to Texas to fix Craig and Jamie's leaking roof. How dare he leave my house to fix craig's leaking roof. What do they not have carpenters in Texas? (Just Kidding) Because it is so cold he wouldn't be able to get much done here anyways. So hopefully next week they can start on the second floor.
On a different note:
I am feeling well. Sleeping is getting a little difficult and uncomfortable. I get occasional aches under my ribs and feels as though my food sits right in my chest. I would be getting heartburn terribly, but I have been taking prevacid for several months now so that is pretty well controlled. We are so very excited for junior. I will be 33 weeks on monday. Its hard to believe. The weeks go by fast, but it feels like I have been pregnant for a long time. I would have to say the end is much better than the beginning for sure. Baby is moving lots and has developed very powerful kicks and movements. At work talking to patients I often wonder if they can see my belly moving as I am talking to them. It is the most amazing feeling and it is a shame that fathers can not experience that (along with all the other wonderful things that come with pregnancy!). But as Mike said being able to feel the baby inside and being able to carry this child for nine months is our reward for pregnancy. No wonder mothers and babies have a bond! We have tried to introduce baby smells to the dogs to kind of get them ready for the new addition. Hopefully they will be welcoming and not terribly jealous!

first floor

The first floor has been layed and they have been working on the framing of the walls. The frames have not been stood up yet. We are expecting some cold weather this week and things probably will come to a hault until it warms up some. So for today and tomorrow we will see what can be done. Also they leveled off the dirt around the house somewhat but no pictures of that yet.

Garage and basment

Well the concrete of the basement was poured and is very smooth. There is in floor heat in the basement. The garage walls were poured. We need a lot of stone for back fill in the garage (which means lots of money!) They started on the framing of the first floor of the house today.
The Garage walls and leveling of all that stone.

Again more stone in the garage.

And guess what more stone.

Our smooth basement floor.

In floor heating.

More in floor heating.

And more in floor heating.
